BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Tininenko works with children, adolescents, and adults as Director of Anxiety and OCD Intensive Services at Bloom.
Dr. Jennifer Tininenko loves helping children, adolescents, and families achieve their personal goals. Her clients come to her with a wide range of obstacles interfering with what they want most in life and she works within an evidence-based framework, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to help them overcome those obstacles. Dr. Tininenko enjoys working with her clients in a collaborative way to approach their problems head on, regardless of the complexity.
Dr. Tininenko works with a wide range of clients, from early childhood through young adulthood.
She has a special interest in treating anxiety disorders, including OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, sleep disorders, body focused repetitive behaviors (i.e., trichotillomania, skin picking), as well as working with children and families with complex co-occurring problems. She often treats mood disorders, ADHD, and disruptive behavior problems, as well as adjustment to situational challenges and life stressors. She also enjoys working with individuals who have difficulties regulating strong emotions and are experiencing problems as a result of these difficulties.
Parents are often an integral part of treatment and Dr. Tininenko involves them when it is beneficial for the child or teen’s treatment. She also works with parents individually to teach them new behavioral approaches to managing their child’s problematic behaviors and help them to gain confidence in their parenting. She also enjoys helping parents to manage their own life stress or mental health concerns.
Dr. Tininenko received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Oregon, after which she completed her predoctoral internship in pediatric psychology at Seattle Children’s Hospital through the University of Washington Medical Center. She then elected to pursue more focused training and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle, with a focus on anxiety disorders and DBT.
Dr. Tininenko is active in training others in the community and enjoys giving frequent talks and supervising clinical psychology graduate students.
Dr. Tininenko is a member of several professional organizations, including the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and Washington State Psychological Association (WSPA). She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington and is also a member of PSYPACT with authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT).
