Jasper Berg

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Berg is Director of Adult DBT Intensive Services at Bloom.

Dr. Berg is a licensed psychologist with advanced training and specialization in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adolescents, families, and adults for the treatment of emotion dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidality. They also have considerable training and experience in the treatment of mood disorders, substance use, and trauma.

Dr. Berg received their B.A. in Psychology from Brown University, and then pursued graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at Emory University, focusing on the role of impulsivity in behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal difficulties. Their passion for DBT began at the Emory University Child & Adolescent Mood Program, where they were a research assistant and trainee therapist on the DBT team for two years. During this time, they also attended a DBT intensive training facilitated by Drs. Lorie Ritschel and Tony DuBose

In addition to DBT, Dr. Berg has extensive training in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Activation (BA), DBT for Substance Use (DBT-S), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). They enjoy working with adolescents and adults who struggle with emotion dysregulation and impulsive behaviors, and they are particularly interested in providing compassionate, affirmative mental health care to the LGBTQ+ community.

Dr. Berg is licensed in the state of Washington and is also a member of PSYPACT with authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT).
